Shakhtar Donetsk 2013/14 Nike Home Kit

Ukrainian Premier League champions for the last five seasons in a row and 2011/12 UEFA Champions League quarter-finalists unveiled their Nike home kit for the 2013/14 season on Friday.

In Shakhtar’s familiar orange and black stripes, the new kit was launched along with the introduction of new signings Oleksandr Volovyk, Bohdan Sarnavskiy, Fred, Fernando, Wellington Nem and Facundo Ferreyra.

According to Nike: The jersey’s black stripes reflect the darkness of the coal mines found across Donetsk, while the orange stripes reference the bright sun miners see when they emerge blinking from underground.

Other shirt details include black sleeves with an orange band near the cuff. Inside the back of the neck is a bonded woven orange label featuring the two hammers from their club crest, representing Donetsk as the center of the coal mining industry in Ukraine.

The new home shorts are black, while the socks feature black and orange hoops.
