Kappa Summer 2013 Collection

Italian sportswear firm Kappa has launched it Summer 2013 collection. It stems from Kappa’s iconic silhouettes: the Banda and the EROI (Mondo) series.

The Banda Collection features track jackets and pants with the signature Omini logo taping on sides. The Omini logo band was created in the 1980’s when the historic 222 was manufactured (the first tracksuit in the world with a band of repeated logos).

Its success continued in the 1980’s in sponsorship of the U.S. team of athletics and the manufacturing of the official technical sportswear worn by the American sprinters for the Olympic Games of Los Angeles ’84 and Seoul ’88. The Banda Collection in 2013 is an evolution of Kappa’s core apparel, offering new colorways and color-blocking for men and women.

The Mondo Collection is a series of embroidered polos, track jackets and T-shirts that represent cities/countries with a connection to the Kappa community. Inspired by sports fans declaring their allegiance to country and city for generations, the series of crafted appliqué apparel is a throwback to the 1920’s Italian National soccer team’s official sweaters. The 2013 collection pays homage to Kappa’s heritage and reflects its footprints in the cities and countries around the world.
