Liverpool FC 2013/14 Warrior Home Kit

Published on

Eighteen-time English and five-time European champions Liverpool Football Club have officially unveiled their 2013/14 Warrior home kit. It is now available at World Soccer Shop and Kitbag.

Here are the details on the new kit from the Liverpool FC website: The all-red strip features a white trim and is based on the iconic shirt of the 1983-84 season, which was worn during the European Cup final triumph in Rome.

Made using War-Tech, Warrior’s signature apparel technology system, the shirt is highly-breathable, as well as moisture-wicking, keeping players dry.

Meanwhile, the four-way stretch mesh paneling under the arms and across the back allows airflow and ventilation, helping players stay comfortable in core heat areas of the body – something that is key for the players, according to Steven Gerrard.

Daniel Sturridge added: “It’s important that you feel good in the shirt because you wear it a lot of the time, so if you’re not comfortable in the strip you don’t perform as well. It’s very important for a new strip to feel comfortable.”

Also on the new kit, the liver bird crest – re-introduced by Warrior in 2012 – has been incorporated into the design in two ways.

Running alongside the embroidered emblem, a new pin-striped sublimation print on the front of the shirt showcases the iconic symbol with ‘Liverpool FC’ interwoven using a darker red hue.

Lucas Leiva said: “It is a very nice kit. The white details have given it a nice touch and the material is very good and very comfortable. I think they have done everything they can to make us feel good and it’s a very beautiful kit.

“I’m really looking forward to wearing it next season.”

Pepe Reina will also sport an all-new strip between the sticks next season as Liverpool’s goalkeepers will wear a white and black kit.

The Spanish stopper commented: “It’s good. It’s different, a really light colour, but I think the [outfield] players like it, so that’s very good.

“Being comfortable is the main thing. Overall, it doesn’t matter if it’s brilliant or nice, it’s just about how comfortable you are in it – and with this one, I feel very, very comfortable.”
