FC Metz is currently campaigning in the third tier of French soccer, Le Championnat National, after being relegated from Ligue 2 at the end of the 2011/12 season.
The club was a Ligue 1 regular from the late 1960s to the mid-2000s. During this period, FC Metz featured well-known players such as Franck Ribéry, Robert Pires, Louis Saha and Emmanuel Adebayor.
In celebration of it’s 80th Anniversary Metz has launched two special edition kits. In the club’s traditional red and in an alternate black, the new shirts feature a diagonal print of the text “80 ANS” (80 YEARS) on its front. The number 80 is printed on the kits’ back along with “FC METZ” in the player name area.
The red jersey was worn during FC Metz’ 80th Anniversary match against US Orléans on December 21st.
