Grêmio Arena Inauguration 2012 Topper Kit

Gremio (full name Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense) finished the recently concluded 2012 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A third place for their best league finish since 2008.

On Saturday, the club opened its new state of the art stadium, the Grêmio Arena, in Porto Alegre. Gremio marked the inauguration of the ground with a 2-1 victory over German club Hamburger SV in what was a rematch of the 1983 Intercontinental Cup.

For the occasion, Gremio wore a special edition kit from technical sponsor Topper. In the club’s traditional blue, black and white, the commemorative jersey uses a different design from the Gremio’s 2012 home, away, third and “Castelhana” jerseys. It also  features the logos of the Gremio Arena and stadium construction firm OAS on its inner chest area.
