Club Sport Marítimo MH M, usually called just Marítimo, is a Portuguese sports club, founded in Funchal, Madeira, in 1910. The club is best known for its soccer team which currently competes in the Portugal’s Primeira Liga.
Here is a look at the CS Maritimo 2012/13 Lacatoni home and away kits. Their designs were selected from a kit design competition won by Joel Novais of Grafykk.
According to Joel:
I searched throughout the history of the team and its old jerseys, from the 1920s and 1930s (for the main jersey) and on a white kit from the 1960s/1970s (to the 2nd jersey).
The main one, forms an “M” on the front (as it is the main letter of the team) building a statement as well as a curiosity element. A white V collar was applied to give distinction and class also, a label to apply on the bottom front of the jersey saying “1926 Portuguese Champion” to empower and celebrate a very special moment of their achievements and strength. Other details were developed for the inside of the jersey.
I also applied the Lion — which is part of their logo — inside the middle stripe of the jersey. On both, they have on the end of the sleeves, red and green stripes. I also developed a kit for the goalkeeper, remembering ones they used to wear on the 1960s.
