2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers Botswana recently switched technical sponsors from local firm All Kasi to Umbro. Now the Botswana 2012/13 Umbro home, away and third kits have been launched ahead of Saturday’s AFCON qualifier against Mali.
According to Umbro: The BFA in collaboration with Umbro South Africa, are pleased to reveal a new identity and style that lies at the heart of every football team — from the team name through to the design kit. Pride in your team’s shirt is not just a modern phenomenon; even the earliest teams wanted to look unique and they wanted to look smart. Modern day kits have moved on in terms of performance but style has always been relevant.
Sportswear company; Umbro has applied its football tailoring philosophy to the Zebras home kit and incorporated the country’s colors to accentuate the different segments of the garment. Starting with the Botswana blue body; to the white under arm inserts to the black trim and sleeves, we have been careful to ensure the garment represents the colors of the nation accurately.
On the away garment, we have celebrated the emergence once again the stripe to bring home the Nations colours. With pure white being the focus and adding the black trims once again around the collar and sleeves. We feel the new Zebras design brings together the footballing culture of the beautiful game and the nation.
