A regular top five finisher in the Spanish Primera División since the 2004/05 season, Villarreal Club de Fútbol, S.A.D., usually abbreviated to Villarreal CF will compete in La Segunda División for the first time since 2000 next season.

The club was a UEFA Champions League semi-finalist in 2006 and made the semis of the UEFA Europa League in 2004 and 2011. However, poor form and a mass of injuries last season saw the Yellow Submarine finish in 18th position in La Liga last season.

On Tuesday, the Villarreal CF home and away kits were launched. Provided by technical sponsor Xtep, the home kit in is in the club’s well-known yellow while the away uniform all black with yellow accents. They were modeled by current players Mateo Musacchio (home), Manu Trigueros (away) and Jorge Palatsí (goalkeeper) during the release event.
