Bavarian side FC Augsburg campaigned in the German Bundesliga for the first time in its history during the 2011/12 season and managed a respectable 14th place league finish at the end of the season. The club’s ascent to Germany’s top flight of soccer capped a remarkable run for a club that was playing in the country’s fourth division as recently as 2002.
On Friday, the FC Augsburg Jako 2012/13 home, away and third kits were officially launched with modeling from current players Daniel Baier, Matthias and Tobias Werner Ostrzolek.
The white home kit takes its inspiration from that worn by the club during the 1973/74 season when it qualified for the second tier of German soccer, the 2nd Fußball-Bundesliga, for the first time. All three kits are expected to see action in July during Augsburg’s pre-season campaign.
