Ten-time Ecuadorian Serie A champions Emelec are currently in the midst of their group stage run in the 2012 Copa Libertadores. However, with just one win from four matches played, the Guayaquil-based side must win at least one of its remaining Group 2 matches to have any hopes of advancing in what is South America’s premier international club competition.
Emelec has launched a special edition 2012 Copa Libertadores home jersey its latest appearance in the tournament. While it maintains the club’s traditional blue and white colors, it features a striped design instead of the sashed look of Emelec’s 2012 home kit from Astro. The shirt will see action again tonight when Emelec hosts Ronaldinho and Flamengo at the Estadio George Capwell.
