Fifteen-time Peruvian Primera División champions Club Sporting Cristal have unveiled their Umbro 2012 home kit for the upcoming domestic season. The new jersey uses an Umbro design for seen in the Manchester City 2010/11 away shirt (now used as the club’s 2011/12 third kit).

The Sporting Cristal Umbro 2012 home uniform was launched last night at the club’s Noche de la Raza Celeste (Night of the Sky Blue Race) at the Estadio Nacional on Saturday night. The new kit was worn for the first time during the subsequent friendly with Universidad de San Martín de Porres.

Saturday’s festivities also celebrated the career of newly-retired club legend and former Peru international Roberto “Chorri” Palacios.

Founded on December 13, 1955 as Sporting Tabaco but it renamed when a local beer production company bought it, Sporting Cristal’s last league title came in 2005. The club finished last season’s league campaign in 10th place.
