FC Barcelona defeated AC Milan 3-2 in an entertaining encounter at the San Siro on Wednesday to secure first place in UEFA Champions League Group H. Milan will finish in second place regardless of the results of the final group stage matchday in two weeks time.
Xavi Hernández scored the winner in the 63rd-minute after Milan had twice equalised through former Barca striker Zlatan Ibrahimović and Kevin-Prince Boateng. A Mark Van Bommel own goal in the 14th and a Lionel Messi penalty in the 29th rounded out the scoring for the defending champions.
