Pelé Sports Trinity 3E Performance Soccer Boot

LONDON, England, October 26, 2011 — Building on years of ergonomic research and footwork analysis, Pelé Sports — the global footwear and apparel brand from Brazilian soccer legend, Pelé — unveiled a first-of-its-kind, multi-purpose performance shoe today at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection launch: the Trinity 3E (now available for pre-order at World Soccer Shop and Big Toe Soccer).

With an average of 2.7 player injuries per professional team each season, Pelé Sports’ used a combination of lightweight materials and innovative design concepts to harness a player’s physical potential while in motion. The key feature of the Trinity 3E, however, lies in its never-before-seen strategically extreme stud positioning, which strengthens footwork ability with each challenge the beautiful game presents.

“Our unique stud mapping technology has resulted in individual stud configurations, that together, optimize foot muscle function and enhance propulsion,” said Greg Lever-O’Keefe, Head of Design for Pelé Sports. “Each stud has been carefully sculpted to increase ground penetration, reduce turf resistance and most importantly minimize injury risk.”

TRINITY 3E: THE FIRST SPEED CLEAT TO TACKLE THE GAME’S THREE ELEMENTS
– Lightweight: the Pelé Sports team worked with Formula One engineers to strip away unnecessary weight and structure. Despite extremely low weight characters (159 grams/5.6 ounces), all Trinity 3E materials were chosen for maximum durability.

– Traction: because the foot’s natural movement is asymetrical, all studs were placed in unconventional spots on the sole plate to simultaneously dissipate force and improve grip. With the highlighted studs representing the advancement of each area of the foot as it flexes and rolls, the cleat’s patent pending stud geometry paves the way for a completely new experience of instant ground contact, high velocity release, excellent traction and explosive acceleration.

– Muscle Stimulation: Pelé Sports’ focused on the heel of the foot, the most sensitive tactile area under the foot, to organically engage with its muscles. In turn, this optimizes stimulation, signals reactionary rates to the brain and improves agility, ball control and coordination.

TRINITY 3E: CLINICAL DATA & TRIALS
Studies conducted by Professor Ewald Henning, University of Duisburg-Essen’s Department of Movement and Sports Sciences, showed at a very high statistical significance level (p<0.01) that the Trinity 3E allows for faster movements when compared to other high performance speed boot products on the market. His research and testing showed that the boot gives the player the advantage in a small or tight space scenario, allowing them to be 40cm closer to the ball while kicking. For longer manoeuvres, players can have an advantage of being up to 1.5 metres closer to the ball on the field.

“I was surprised to find how the Trinity 3E had a clear speed advantage as compared to the three other top competitive models we tested,” Professor Henning said. “The strength of the Trinity 3E was especially apparent in cutting manoeuvres, which is probably the most important action in soccer.”
