Defending Romanian Liga I champions FC Otelul Galati are currently campaigning in the UEFA Champions League for the first time after five previous appearances in the UEFA Cup / Europa League.
The Galati-based club is grouped matched with Manchester United, FC Basel and SL Benfica in Group C of the competition. After falling to Basel and Benfica in Matchdays 1 and 2 of the UCL, Otelul Galati will host 2010/11 competition finalists Manchester United on Tuesday.

Of note is that the Otelul Galati jersey bears the logo of sponsor ArcelorMittal.The steel company is owned by part-owner of the English Premier League’s Queens Park Rangers, Lakshmi Mittal. Mittal is said to be an investor in FC Otelul Galati.
