Nacional Umbro 2011 “Celeste” Jersey / Camiseta

Defending Uruguayan Primera División champion Club Nacional de Football (usually called Nacional) has launched a special edition Umbro 2011 jersey that pays tribute to the Uruguay national soccer team. Like most kit releases from the England-based football gear specialists, it uses the Tailored by Umbro theme for its launch.

The Nacional Umbro 2011 Celeste (Spanish for “Sky Blue”) jersey uses the same color as the home kit of the 2011 Copa America champions. It made its on the field debut in Nacional’s 1-0 loss to Universidad de Chile in Copa Sudamericana action on September 13th.

The date is of significance as on September 13th, 1903 a Uruguayan national team made of Nacional players defeated neighbors Argentina 3-2 in Palermo.
