A fixture in the Spanish La Liga for most of the 1990s, Madrid-based club Rayo Vallecano is back in the top tier of Spanish soccer for the 2011/12 season for the first time since 2003.
Once the club of familiar names such as Mexico’s Hugo Sánchez, Russia’s Viktor Onopko and the USA’s Kasey Keller, Rayo earned promotion via a second place finish in the 2010/11 Segunda División. The club kicked of its 11/12 season with a credible 1-1 draw at Athletic Bilbao last weekend.
Here is a look at the Rayo Vallecano 2011/12 home kit. It is made by Italian sportswear firm Royal. Rayo is among the firm’s most prominent sponsored soccer teams.
