Hosts Argentina were held to a 1-1 draw by modest Bolivia in the opening match of Copa America 2011 in La Plata on Friday night.

Edvialdo Rojas silenced the home crowd with a clever goal in the 48th following several good attempts from Argentina.

Substitute Sergio Aguero salvaged a point for Lionel Messi and company when he scored on volley in the 76th minute.

Argentina will face Colombia on Wednesday while Bolivia meets invitees Costa Rica in the next round of Group A matches on Wednesday and Thursday.
