Published on

Associação Portuguesa de Desportos, usually called Portuguesa or Lusa, is a Brazilian football team from São Paulo in São Paulo state. The club currently campaigns in the second tier of Brazilian football, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B, after being relegated from the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A at the end of the 2008 season. Once the club of former Brazilian internationals Zé Roberto and Ricardo Oliveira, Portuguesa finished the 2010 Série B season in 5th place.

Earlier today, Portuguesa launched its Penalty kit collection for the 2011 season. Included in the launch were the team’s new home, away and goalkeeper strips. The club’s 2011 kits utilize V-necks inspired by those of Portuguesa’s 1970s shirts. The club’s biggest title came in 1973 when it won the Campeonato Paulista.

Current Portuguesa players Juninho, Weverton and Jaime Rafael Silva were joined by club legend Badeco for today’s presentation. Badeco was a member of the 1973 title-winning side.
