Deportivo Alavés, S.A.D., usually abbreviated to Alavés, is a Spanish football club based in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Founded in 1921, Alavés currently plays in the third tier of Spanish soccer, La Segunda División B, but was a fixture in the Spanish Primera from 1998-2003. The club last campaigned in La Liga during the 2005/06 season.

Deportivo Alavés became the first Spanish team to unveil its 2011/12 kits on Friday. The 11/12 Alavés Nike kits consist of a home strip in the club’s traditional blue and white stripe and a maroon away uniform. The latter pays homage to a staple of Vitoria-Gasteiz’s economy – wine.
