Esporte Clube Bahia (often simply known as Bahia) are a Brazilian football team based in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. The club won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A in 1988 and the Taça Brasil (the predecessor to the modern Brazilian League) in 1959, after beating Pelé’s Santos.
Bahia is one of the most popular teams from the Northeast of Brazil and is currently participating in the Brazilian Second Division, the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. It was the first club of Brazil and FC Barcelona right back Daniel Alves.
Earlier this week, Bahia presented its 2010/11 Lotto third kit to the public. It was used for the first time during yesterday’s 1-1 draw with league leaders Coritiba.
