Real Sporting de Gijón is an Spanish football team from Gijón, Asturias. The club currently plays in the Spanish Primera División or La Liga and is nicknamed Los Rojiblancos (The Red and Whites) because of its red and white striped home jerseys.

Sporting Gijon returned to the Spanish La Liga for the first time since the 1997/98 season at the start of the 2007/08 season. Since then it has won many fans via its entertaining play and has finished in 14th and 15th positions in La Liga over the past two season.
