They currently play in the Serie A de Ecuador – the highest level of the Ecuadorian professional football league.
LDU Quito is the current holder of both the Copa Sudamericana and Recopa Sudamericana. It was the first Ecuadorian club to win the Copa Libertadores (in 2008) and qualify for the FIFA World Club Cup. Many may remember LDU from its run in the 2008 World Club Cup where it fell 1-0 to Manchester United in the final.
