Man of the Match Frank Lampard scored four goals while Florent Malouda notched two and Salomon Kalou had one for the homestanding Blues.

John Carew had tied the score at 1-1 for Aston Villa late in the first half before Lampard’s 44th minute penalty kick opened up the floodgates.

Manchester United (23-6-3) leads the English Premier League table with 72 points. Chelsea (22-5-5) has 71 while Arsenal (21-6-5) is on 68. All three title contenders have six games left.

Chelsea meets Manchester United next weekend at Old Trafford.
