They are the defending Romanian  Liga I champions and are on the verge of advancing to the Round of 16 of the 2009/10 UEFA Champions League. A win or draw at VfB Stuttgart on December 9th will see the surprise package of this year’s tournament through. A loss will result in them entering the UEFA Europa league as they are certain to finish no lower than in third position in Group G of the UEFA Champions League.
