The 2010 African Cup of Nations kicks off on January 10th. Earlier this week, we got our first look at the Puma kits that will be worn by Angola (home), Cameroon (home and away), Ivory Coast (home and away) and Morocco (home) during the tournament. Now, several more kits for Puma-sponsored African national teams have surfaced. They are the 2010 kits for Ghana (home and away), Egypt (home), Morocco (away) and Senegal (away).
Thus far, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia and Algeria have qualified for the tournament and will join hosts Angola for Africa’s foremost football tournament. Perennial African powers Egypt and Morocco are expected to join them. However, FIFA World Cup 2002 quarter-finalists, Senegal, have recently fallen on hard times are have already been eliminated from contention in the World Cup 2010 and African Cup of Nations 2010 qualification process.
All of the kits have a definite retro look about them. The home kits feature watermarks that Puma has used in recent times for national football kits. For example, the right shoulder of the Ghana home kit features a watermarked star reflective of the team’s nickname – The Black Stars
