Nike goes retro for German Bundesliga outfit’s Hertha Berlin 09/10 kits.
The 2009/10 Hertha Berlin Nike home kit incorporates Hertha’s traditional colours while maintaining a simple yet trendy look courtesy of one of Nike’s 2009/10 templates. Gone is 2008/09’s round neckline in favour of a traditional soccer-style collar. It should be noted, however, that this years pinstripes are narrower than last years.
Here’s a description of both shirts from Hertha Berlin’s website:
Classic home shirt
Once again the home shirt has blue and white vertical stripes. This time though, the stripes are thinner than before. Thin pinstripes and a white polo collar lends the shirt a little more class and quality. The classic Hertha logo is (as always) on the left breast of the shirt, opposite the Nike swoosh on the right. HERTHABSC in blue adorns the back of the new shirt.
The home shorts are blue with white trim. The Hertha emblem is opposite the Nike swoosh. The 2009/10 socks are blue with white trim, with the name “Hertha” in the ankle area.
Red and black away shirt
The new away shirt is a very nice red and black striped affair. Those colours represent the colours of the city of Berlin. “BERLIN” is emblazoned in white on the back of the shirt. The shorts are black with red trim, while the away socks are black.
