Once again the leak was right. Perennial English Premier League contenders Chelsea FC have launched their Adidas 2009/10 away kit. According to the club:
The new adidas kit, which will be worn for the first time when Chelsea face AC Milan on 24 July during the pre-season tour, has incorporated the highest sporting technology and design standards into the shirt.
The away kit for 2009/10 uses a tonal hoop in dark navy and new navy with a neon yellow highlight for the adidas three stripes, tipping on the collar and sleeves, giving a structured, stylish finish to the shirt.Engineered mesh in the fabric on the front of the shirt, coupled with the 3D Formotion cut allows complete freedom of movement. Waffled Climacool fabric and mesh panelling across major sweat zones will increase comfort and ensure players remain cool and dry.
The shirt also has a new collar design tipped in neon yellow, giving a ‘v’ neck impression with the Chelsea lion printed on the back of the neck.
Here are the first images of the new kit featuring expert modeling from Chelsea stalwarts Frank Lampard, Solomon Kalou and captain John Terry.
