It looks like the leak of the Everton Le Coq Sportif 2009/10 home kit was right. Here’s a look at brand new official pictures of the kit from Everton’s website. As you can see, the most prominent picture features Toffees’ striker Louis Saha in the 09/10 shirt.
The Everton 2009/10 Le Coq Sportif home kit pays tribute to the club’s 1983-85 seasons during which Everton won the FA Cup, the English First Division and European Cup Winners Cup via next season’s home kit. According to Everton’s webite: The white ‘v’ on the new shirt is reminiscent of the kit worn by the likes of Graeme Sharp, Kevin Ratcliffe, Peter Reid and Andy Gray almost 25 years ago, as they powered to league and European success in 1984/85.
Consequently, Tim Cahill and the rest of the Toffees will don a home shirt based on the Leq Coq Sportif kit worn from 1983-85 that carries the names of the 1985 European Cup Winners Cup champion side on the inside rear neck area. Check out a close up of the neck are below.
