FC Spartak Moscow is a football club based in Moscow, Russia. They are nicknamed “Meat” because in Soviet era the club was owned by the Collective Production Farms.
Spartak have won 12 Soviet championships (second only to Dynamo Kyiv) and 9 of 16 Russian championships. They have also won the Soviet Cup 10 times and the Russian Cup 3 times. Spartak have also reached the semi-finals of all three European club competitions.
Spartak currently campaigns in the Russian Premier League and are managed by Danish football legend Michael Laudrup. They finished in 8th place in last year’s RPL.
Here’s a look at FC Spartak Moscow’s 2009/10 home an away Nike kits. The red home shirts feature Spartak’s traditional white stripe of 8.5 cm on the chest and club logo in the center of the shirt. It is based on the Spartak 1938 shirt.
