Manchester United FIFA Club World Cup Champions Badge

FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter honoured Manchester United’s victory at the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan yesterday at Old Trafford before the Red Devils’ UEFA Champions League second-leg tie against Inter Milan.  This was done via the presentation of  the ‘FIFA Club World Cup Champions Badge’ to Manchester United Chief Executive David Gill, and defender Wes Brown.

The badge may be displayed on the jerseys of the reigning FIFA Club World Cup Champions until the final whistle of the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup. It features an image of the trophy and the text: FIFA World Champions 2008.

Manchester United will wear shirts featuring the FIFA Club World Cup Champions Badge during UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and Carling Cup games. The kit that United used for yesterday’s 2-0 defeat of Inter Milan in the Champions League featured the new badge.
