[digg=http://digg.com/soccer/Eduardo_is_Back_Arsenal_4_Cardiff_City_0_FA_Cup]Arsenal striker Eduardo sealed a remarkable comeback from a devastating leg injury by scoring a brace against Cardiff City at the Emirates stadium last night in an FA Cup replay. The injury had occurred exactly 51 weeks to the day during an English Premier League match against Birmingham City. It resulted in Eduardo’s leg being broken in two places by a lunge from defender Martin Taylor.

Eduardo, who played for Croatia last week, met a Carlos Vela cross to open the scoring from eight metres after 20 minutes. He got his second from the penalty spot in the 60th minute after he had been fouled in the box and immediately went to share his joy with the Arsenal medical team.

Eduardo was substituted to a standing ovation from the Emirates Stadium faithful a few minutes later.

“It was the best day of my life because it proved I can play again,” local media quoted Eduardo as saying.

“It was a special moment to score and very emotional. I had tears in my eyes. I celebrated by kissing my wedding ring because my wife, Andreja, daughter Lorena and family supported me right through it.”

Nicklas Bendtner and substitute Robin van Persie were also on target last night. Arsenal will now meet Burnley in the 5th round of the cup.
