Also referred to as Universitario or La U, it is the most popular and successful football club in Peru.  Since 1928, the club has always played in the top tier of Peruvian football, the First Peruvian Division (Primera División Peruana).

Former Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham United midfielder Nolberto Solano recently signed for the club.

Here’s a look at Solano and several other U players in the club’s 2009/10 home and away Umbro kits. This is the first Umbro design that we’ve seen for the 2009/10 season. Could it be the basis for the 2009/10 West Ham, Blackburn Rovers or even England 2009/10 kits?
