Back in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A after a year in the second division, América Futebol Clube (also called América Mineiro or América MG) have revealed a three match kit range from Lupo for their 2017 campaign.
Know for unearthing Brazilian internationals such as Fred, Gilberto Silva and Tostão, América MG’s 2017 home kit in in their traditional green and black stripes. It is inspired by the primary shirt worn by the team in 1971 when they won their first Campeonato Mineiro (Minas Gerais State Championship since 1957). It also contains elements of the América 2000 home jersey worn when they won the now defunct Copa Sul-Minas.
América Mineiro’s 2017 Lupo away shirt is mainly white with green detailing. It carries a retro look complete with a drawstring collar based on the kits worn by the club from 1916 to 1925 as they won ten Campeonato Mineiro’s in a row.
Lastly, the América MG 2017 third jersey is a green and white striped affair based on the shirt worn by “Coelho” (Rabbit) when they won the 1997 Série B title.
