PUMA’s two special edition London Derby boots were seen in action earlier today as Premier League leaders Chelsea FC Arsenal 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
PUMA star players, Hector Bellerín and Cesc Fàbregas wore their own club inspired signature Derby Fever boots for the top of the table clash.
Hector Bellerín and Cesc Fàbregas’ Derby Fever signature boots are the third and fourth installment in the Derby Fever collection that has already celebrated the likes of Santi Cazorla in the North London Derby and Antoine Griezmann in El Derbi Madrileño last year. In tribute to these top encounters between longstanding local football foes, PUMA has been working with its top players to gain key personal insights to develop special edition boots, designed to capture the heat of the occasion, that can be worn by each player with pride on matchday.
Hector Bellerín donned his own evoSPEED 17 SL-S Bellerín Derby Fever edition for the match. Adorned with references to the history of the club that inspire him in battle, the boot will bring the spirit and passion of North London to the turf of Stamford Bridge. White soled with a red upper that features an all over print of the gothic ‘A’ inspired by Arsenal’s former crest, the boot has an Arsenal inspired look and feel.
The red upper is cut into by a second graphic print in grey and white on the heel that features circular icons. Drawing inspiration from Hector’s widespread social presence, the icons connect with both PUMA and Bellerín’s own graphic identity. The custom boot features the bold Derby Fever emblem on the outer heel, further emphasising that this is no routine fixture.
Scoring against his old club shortly after coming on, Cesc Fàbregas pulled on his own signature Derby Fever boots. His evoTOUCH PRO Cesc Derby Fever boot boasts club colors with a blue K-Leather upper and evoKNIT sock, with white details on the outsole, heel and PUMA Formstripe. Featuring dots merged into a single graphic within the Formstripe, the illustration is symbolic of each individual within Fàbregas’ wide fan base. Further personalised features include a graphic representation of London through the iconic underground network on the lateral side and a symbolic lion on the medial side.
