In Memoriam: Chapecoense 2016/17 Umbro Home, Away and Third Kits

Associação Chapecoense de Futebol lost most of its first team and staff during a tragic plane crash in Colombia on Monday night. The modest side from of Chapecó in the state of Santa Catarina was on their way to meet Atlético Nacional in the first leg of the 2016 Copa Sudamericana (South America’s equivalent to the UEFA Europa League) final.

We did not have a chance to feature Chape’s 2016/17 kits from Umbro Brasil when they were launched from May to September of this year because of the hectic European football shirt launch season. Here’s a belated look at the shirts worn by Chapecoense during what was their successive Campeonato Brasileiro Série A season, Copa do Brasil campaign, and amazing run to the finals of the Copa Sudamericana for the first time in their forty year history.
