Up-Close: FC Barcelona Core Padded Reversible Jacket

According to Nike, the FC Barcelona Core Padded Reversible Men’s Jacket delivers cold-weather comfort with lightweight insulation and a mock neck. Team details on a reversible design show your support for an elite club. It is insulated with lightweight Thermore fill for warmth and has zip pockets for secure storage. Its cuffs and hem for stretch for an enhanced fit.

What We Thought

With the lowest temperatures of winter now past us we were looking for a lighter weight coat when we ran into the FC Barcelona Core Padded Reversible Men’s Jacket. Upon unboxing it we were not disappointed by how incredibly low in weight it is. Our first thought was that may not be built for temperatures below freezing.

Indeed Nike does classify it was a medium warmth jacket on its attached tags. However, we were pleasantly surprised at how warm it keeps the core even down to around 25 degrees Fahrenheit. Wear it while sitting on heated car seats and you will find your back sweating.

Since this FC Barcelona jacket is reversible, you get a two for one coat. The main side has a padded look in blue with prominent zippered side pockets that are hand friendly. The legendary FCB crest and Nike Swoosh are both screen printed on its front.

We would have preferred if both were embroidered for staying power but perhaps Nike decided on the alternative approach because of the jacket fill. There is a subtle red tag on the back of the jacket reading “FC Barcelona” on the back of the jacket to represent the club to those admiring the coat from behind.

The reverse side of the FC Barcelona Core Padded Reversible Men’s Jacket is in Barca’s dark red. It carries a completely smooth, untextured look adorned only by a zippered red pocket on its left breast and a stamped, dark blue Swoosh on its right. A similar Barca tag to that found on the back of the blue side of the jacket is also present on the reverse side but in blue for contrast.

When wearing the FC Barcelona Core Padded Reversible Men’s Jacket we were amazed by its combination of low weight and warming capabilities. It is also extremely soft and comfortable once on the torso for a feel reminiscent of a down comforter.
