For the Sidelines: Nike’s Alliance Parka II

Winter is coming. So is the all new Nike Alliance Parka II jacket. Read on for our world exclusive up-close look at one of Nike Soccer’s statement outerwear pieces for Fall / Winter 2015 thanks to the folks at soccerloco.

The Nike Alliance Parka II uses a host of new technology from the Oregon-based sportswear giant with the aim of keeping you warm whether you are on the sidelines of a match (as a player on the bench, a coach or a fan in the stands). Everything is put together into an extremely lightweight package. Here are its main features:

• 240G poly fill
• Nike Storm-FIT 1 technology
• A full is zip
• Fleece lining
• Three front zippered pockets.
• Adjustable sleeve cuffs
• A removable hood with a chinguard/draft flap
• Nike’s Swoosh logo on the upper right chest.

The fit of the Nike Alliance Parka II is true to size. We were a little concerned about this jacket given that Nike apparel can run larger than expected. No such problem in this case since the Alliance Parka II fit as you would expect a Men’s Size Large jacket to.

Once on the Nike Alliance Parka II is extremely form-fitting and comfortable. The fleece lining has a near sleeping bag feel that makes you want to sleep in it on chilly nights. The adjustable sleeve cuffs and waistline are great for adjusting the jacket to give an even snugger fit during artic blasts.

The Nike Alliance Parka II is almost 35” in length. This means that it has a coat effect back reaching well below the waist area for most averaged size joes. Quite welcome in our opinion since this provides extra protection from the elements.

The optional, adjustable hood of the Alliance Parka II works well to keep you dry in cold rainy and in snowy conditions. It also protects the head and ears quite well from the wind. The flap at the front of the hood provide a shield for you lips from the very drying effects of winter winds.

As you can tell from our pictures, the Nike Alliance Parka II is a good looking jacket that will surely have friends and acquaintances asking to about it.
