Up-Close: Valencia CF 2013/14 Joma Home Kit

Spanish La Liga side Valencia Club de Fútbol released their 2013/14 home kit from technical sponsor Joma back in June. Since then Los Che latest shirt has hit retailers around the world and seen extensive action in the club’s domestic and UEFA Europa League campaigns.

The 2013/14 Valencia CF Joma home jersey (availabe at World Soccer Shop, Onionbag, Subside Sports and Kitbag.) is the latest to the Football Fashion kit collection. Here is a World Exclusive up-close look at the new shirt. We’ll be showing you the features of the kit that can only be seen from looking at it in person.

In Valencia’s famed white, the club’s 13/14 home shirt uses an unmistakable and timeless classic soccer jersey look featuring an overlapping v-neck collar and polo collar. The collar in question is not full size which makes it ideal for raising for a different look with a touch of swagger. The v-neck, polo collar and sleeved cuffs are all ribbed and use Valencia’s orange and red.

The inner upper neckline and full circumference of the inner waistline of the 13/14 Valencia home kit are lined with taping that contained the repeat text AMUNT VALENCIA (or GO VALENCIA in English).

Joma has done a good job of incorporating the sponsor logos onto the Valencia CF 2013/14 home jersey by using black font for the main sponsor on the shirt front (Jinko Solar) and secondary sponsor (MSC) on its left sleeve. Coupled with the embroidered black and white Joma logo and a black and white version of the Valencia badge, the sponsor logos meld into the kit seamlessly. Because on some other garish sponsor logos that we regularly see, this is indeed welcome.

Another nice design touch from Joma is subtle orange piping running down the lengths of both sides of the new Valencia kit. This adds a touch of additional flavor to the jersey and is indeed reminiscent of the black vertical taping of the Valencia 2000/01 home shirt worn by the club in its run to that season’s UEFA Champions League Final.

The kit is completed by a Joma Official Product embroidery that includes a Valencia club badge on its lower front left area and an embroidered city of Valencia flag on its upper outer back area.

Lastly, a full sized Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (LFP) is stitched onto the Valencia 13/14 home kit right sleeve. This is feature of all La Liga replica is quite welcome as kits for many other leagues (e.g. the English Premier League) do not include league badges.

While designers can have many options for colored kits, white football shirts can often lack effect. This is not the case with the Valencia CF 2013/14 home jersey. Joma has done a remarkably well in turning what could be a simple white shirt into a classy piece of football art worth a spot in any kit collector’s arsenal!
