The U.S. Men’s National Team qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night with a 2-0 over arch rivals Mexico at the Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH.

Seattle Sounders forward Eddie Johnson and LA Galaxy midfielder Landon Donovan scored for the Americans while Clint Dempsey missed a late penalty attempt that could have seen the USA compound Mexico’s misery.

Mexico is now in fifth place in the six team North, Central America and Caribbean World Cup qualification group with two rounds of matches remaining.
