VfL Bochum is a German soccer club based in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia. The team currently campaigns in the second tier of German soccer, the 2. Bundesliga, following its relegation from the German Bundesliga at the end of the 2009/10 season.

After finishing in 3rd place in the 2. Bundesliga last season, VfL Bochum is currently in 11th place in the table after fifteen matches played.
