FC Barcelona clinically destroyed fellow Spanish La Liga side Almeria 5-0 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final at the Nou Camp on Wednesday.
FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the 9th minute and added a second in the 16th. David Villa and Pedro Rodriguez notched goals to put Barca up 4-0 after 31 minutes. Substitute Seydou Keita scored in the 89th to complete the rout.
