It is the newest professional team from the state of Nuevo León. The side plays home games at the Estadio Universitario, located in San Nicolás de los Garza, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Monterrey. Tigres are the official team of the state-owned university, the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León.
